I have a 52 chevy pu with a 59 235 engine and a electric 14" pusher fan mounted in front of the radiator. Mount the fan as high on the radiator as the fan mounts will allow. And 1/2 inch space between the radiator and fan blades. I bought a SPAL 14 inch. However as far as fan controls go I did not go with their 50.00 dollar controls. Went to Auto Zone and got the adjustable controls.
Fan fits great in front of the the radiator and the hood latch metal plate helps direct the air.
With a 160 degree therm the engine holds a steady 165 degrees even on the hottest days.
