drill out that cheap rivit and use a 1/4'' x 1.5'' bolt & nyloc ...
Try your local
True Value's Hardware Store, torsion spring #27U, .... about 90cents
you might (to make it easier) remove the big spring and main hold down pin/bolt,
Put it (27u) in a vice and pinch it a little tighter. another tweek wider, & fit
BOOM
she works a champ
