On a similar note, I replaced the bushings on my 54 GMC clutch and brake pedal assembly. The hard part was not taking them out, but after installing them they needed to be honed to the proper diameter. My brother in law loaned me a old set of hand reamers that he got from his grandfather. I thought it was so cool to have the correct tool from the era to install these bushings, but six hours of hand reaming later I did not think it was so cool. I did not have full use of my arms for a couple days after that job, but it did the job. I was surprised that the bushings needed to be honed down that much. I can't remember for sure, but I thought I got them from Jim Carter Truck Parts. Knowing what I know now I would probably go down to the local machine shop and they would have the job done in a jiffy.
