"DING-DING-DING!" Give the man a seegar! That's a totally foolproof way of being sure you've got the distributor aligned with the right cylinder. I've seen a lot of my students, and more than a few professionals get fooled by the idea that if the timing marks align, the dizzy must be timed right.
