It really doesn't take long with modern gas to gum up, either, especially if it is in a vented tank. I last used my rototiller in July. I had put fresh gas in it then, but when I tried to start it up last weekend I found that it wouldn't start. I found little balls of goo in the carb. Some fresh gas and a quick clean-out of the jets and she's running again.
