Your engine probably has a bypass-type filter that has a very slow rate of flow. If you use a full-flow type filter you'll kill your oil pressure. There are a few spin-on filters for bypass systems with a small outlet orfice to maintain oil pressure. I have such a system on a 1961 American Motors Rambler flathead 6-cylinder. A filter such as this would work, as long as you use an adapter with the correct thread. Another option would be to use a return line with a restrictor bushing to control oil flow through a more conventional type of spin-on filter. Jerry
