simply power from battery to a fused source. fused source to flasher unit. flasher unit to ''IN'' of a turn signal unit. out of the turn signal unit to L/R/F/B.
yes there is lots more about flasher units. some have a 4 way 'emer' switch. some 4 ways don't need to be on the 'IGN' side of a circuit. i think stu's diagram covers it in more detail.
you can wire up turn cab indicator lamps @ the 'out-put wire.
NOTE:: if you use LED's they need to have some resistance to them. It drove me crazy for about 30 minutes because i did not have me front lamps connected when testing me system. that's where i have me ''regular'' incandescent bulbs that create the resistance i needed to make the flasher unit work.
