i got a 3 inch dropped front straight axle from Sid here
http://droppedaxles.com/then removed 1 leaf, the smallest, and it rides perfect. soffened it up just right.
in the future i will remove 1-2 more front leafs to drop it more, as waldo has.
it is the easiest, cheapest way to drop, and still have lots of suspension travel.
i believe if you were to go with a mono leaf drop, you will lose lots of suspension travel, and encounter bump steer.
