No idea if this helps or not, but I have just dissasembled the park brake on my 41 ton and a half for cleaning and painting. On mine, the main lever is oriented so that the bend at the top part (the handle part) tilts forward. The silver, spring-mounted release lever is on the rear, or seat side of the handle. the spring mounts with the short end poked through the hole in the neck of the handle, with the long end inside the spoon of the release lever, pointed upward on the underside.
OK . . . if I didn't know what I was talking about, I wouldn't know what I was talking about!

This may be COMPLETELY different from a smaller and/or earlier truck - no idea. Does this help at all?!?
