On a Arborist's forum, the chainsaw freaks don't really ever throw out the old dishwasher. If Wifey wants a new dishwasher 'cause the old one is sporting a touch of rust on the trim or the youngest biscuit eater dented it with his Big Wheel, or if it makes too much noise being run when you want to watch sit-coms.... Run on down to Home Cheapo and buy her a new one. After installation, you get hugs and kisses, and it isn't even her birthday.
