I am going to put on a modern steel flatbed by WW. It is the bed that was on the 78'. I am going to only have a half headache rack. I want the back of the cab to be seen from the rear. My intentions are to build this one to pull another. Since this is my first build I know that I am going to make many mistakes and find that there are alot of things I would do different. I have already discovered that a small block would be a better fit. And now that fuel prices are so high a 4 cylinder might even be better. I could never go the 4 cylinder route. I could probably do the 6 though my Dad has put a 235 in his 46'. I think that this truck would be cool to have either another AD truck or a nice Farmall or John Deere tractor sitting on a gooseneck trailer behind it. (maybe one day) The other responsibilities that I have prevent a lot of time and money to be dedicated to the project. My youngest who is 5 likes to go out in the garage and help me tinker on it. A few weeks ago he had to have the running boards installed. So what did we do? we installed running boards that were not ready to be on the truck but you do what you have to do to make the boy happy. Memories that will not be forgotten.
