The drawings in the Assembly Manuel are almost all dated May or June of 1953 so they are not representative of the earlier models. However the 11-2.06 illustration is consistent with the parts manuals that list the double U-bracket mount and cross and horizontal braces on the 3692219 support.
Now keep in mind that if your looking at a pre-1953 3600 or 3800 it will only have a single center U-bracket that mounts to the cross member much like the ones pictured in the 11-2.07 and 11-2.12 illustrations for the ’53, 3800-4000-5000-6000 models.
Hey Big, I'd like to here from that guy also, that's what I was thinkin’ to, but I've had this question thrown out to the VCCA Chatter II for a few days and haven't heard a thing. I'm not one of the insiders and it seems like if your not, a lot of the times they just ignore your questions or replies. Gene S. usually has an answer for anybody that throws out a question over but he may be on vacation or something.
I leave any comments on the ’54-’55 front ends to someone else because I’ve had no exposure to them.
