Hi. I just unbolted an original front engine mount from a '49 Chevy 3/4-Ton with a 216. The four-piece set-up was mounted on the top side of the crossmember underneath the engine faceplate.
This seems like a strange engine mount since there is no real rubber isolation between the engine and the frame. Is there a better front engine mount available? I will be installing my new rebuilt 261 in my '49 Chevy very soon.
