Lets diagnose the problem instead of guesing at it. First make sure there is current to the pos. side of the coil when you turn the key on.Then make sure the points open & close as the engine turns over, Use a test light or a jumper wire & touch the pos. term to ground momentarally. If that is good take a screwdriver & open the points shorting them to ground off & on. put the high tension wire comeing out of the center of the coil close to a ground. Each time you break the circuit in the points a small spark should be at the screwdriver & a fat blue spark should jump out of the coil. If it does & it doesn,t spark as you turn the engine over then the points are dirty or burnt. If you dont get any spark at the points there is a bad connection somewhere or the condenser is bad. Make sure the wires connected at the points are not turn & shorting to ground. This should give you something to work with & let us know what you find & we can help some more.
