My friend's pickup just got an engine replaced. 1955 235 powerglide engine out, 1955 235 truck standard shift engine in. Problem I'm having is that his throttle rod (the one going from the bellcrank to the accelerator pedal) has a ball end on the pedal end instead of a clevis with a crosspin. Don't the 1954 accelerator pedals use a neoprene ball socket on the bottom? And if they do, would that pedal mount 1950 style with the crosspin for a pivot point down at the bottom of the pedal?
I'm trying to figure out the best way of having a reliable accelerator pedal hookup here. I don't have any extra throttle rods lying around here. . . . Fred | | | |
