I didn't see any shims either, that's why I ran it up the flag pole. My tomorrow your yesterday I will take some pictures of the rear end and post them. I don't know how many of the folks here would like photos of a 4-speed crash box and a big rear end but I could do a whole photo essay on both rebuilds. That transmission is so simple my mother could rebuild it. I hope to have the truck back on the road this week-end, my bearing guy said Friday for the double row pinion bearing. I sure hope this truck is quiet after all this, then I can put in a radio
