I know there has been some interest in how I adapted my AD truck for an aftermarket modern truck radiator. I'm not very internet-saavy and really do not know the first thing about hosting digital pictures online. But if anyone has any ideas on that, I will try to figure out a way to share my pictures.
I had a disaster occur on my truck. At 3000 rpm, my brand new water pump failed. It was actually the thick metal disk that is pressed onto the water pump shaft that flew off, with the pulley, fan, and fan clutch attached. The fan flew forward violently and literally ripped up the brand new radiator.
Since the water pump was purchased at Napa auto parts, they are honoring the complete repair of everything that was damaged as a result. So the whole thing is pulled out of the truck, and I will be able to photographically record installing the radiator back in; if anyone is interested.
The original radiator support is still in the truck. I used it to build up a sheetmetal fan shroud, and it really works. With the Hayden 6-bladed fan, I could really feel the air pull through the front of the radiator. But next time, when the radiator goes in, I am going to also install a wire mesh shield behind the radiator, in case this ever happens again.
