Jerry - I wasn't trying to be argumentative, and I don't think Peter took it that way. As you suggest, some of the large aftermarket vendors sometimes oversell their wares. If alternatives are not presented, then anyone might believe that these advertisements are correct.

Since one of the examples used is a 283, you can see just how much overkill that a 600 CFM carb is for a 283.
