If you wire both chokes, the resistance that the source will see will be less than one of the chokes by itself. As I reason it out in my head, If the power to each choke comes from the same power source, and the other side of the choke is to ground, essentially, they are wired paralell to each other. The total circuit resitance would be one over the combined recirocals of each individual choke coil.
