Tim, in Jim Carter's book, he states that his short shaft to be used when installing a 55-62 235 eng in 37 to 55 chevy trucks.
,eliminates the need to move the radiator forward and has the 3/8 grove as required for the correct pulley,so I dont know if his is from a car or not, looks like it is? his longer one is $75 for my truck and the shorter shaft is $93.45, I am still confused, is this short one a special design from him or is it a car one.. and , guess I need not worry because his short one is for a 55-62 eng and my is a 54 -235 eng, I did not know their was that much difference,,oh well,Fred
