I need some reference and parts for the inner workings of how the barn doors on my 52 panel are supposed to work. Currently the left rear door is held closed with a C-clamp and I modified a 1950's left side door handle for the right rear door to latch it to the left. Not a pretty scenario but it works more or less. I looked high and low for a panel door handle before I did my custom rear door handle modification including building a plate/spacer to keep the handle for scratching the door. Someone told that the rear door handle is the "Holy Grail" for panel van restorers. I can only imagine that the proper workings for the left door are going to be the same way. If so does anybody have some cool mickey mouse tricks for me? It doesn't have to be original but it does need to work and allow me to keep my panel locked. You bust 'em we make it custom!
