| | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 899 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 899 | I agree with Wada. Every Fram filter I've seen has a spring that's not meant to be removed. Ones that are not welded are retained by bending a tab over the coil closest to the cover. This tab WILL break if you try to bend it. Mask it off and set it in an open tin can to paint it.... that's what I do. Good luck!
