If it has been changed to 12 volt, chances are pretty good that it is still the 6 volt starter. It has been fairly common practice for vehicles to be changed and leave the old starter in and they will work. Probably not the recommended way, but it's been done a lot.
I was thinking this would work...As long as the motor fires quickly...shouldn't be too hard on the starter motor. Thanks!
