I would also be wary, these old blades can break easily, resulting in severe injury to anyone in its path. I would bead blast it clean and do a careful inspection for cracks before painting. The fans for the 235 are getting a little scarce, and no one makes them anymore. I can remember buying a 5 blade fan for a 230 when we added on a/c, the parts store had them in stock. Shows how much things change in 35 years.
