a few? trucks without heaters were common .... in areas where they're seldom needed [and a major assembly plant was Los Angeles] ... remember any version heater was an extra cost option, not standard equipment
I remember 'back in the day' [like about the 60's], the "options" got so bad we use to joke tires and a steering wheel were extra cost options
