whats funny is that alot of engines in late 60s and up were actually red, not orange,
look in 67-72 10-30 series owners manuals towards the back, the colors are listed for engines such as 250, 292, 283, 307, 327, 350, GMC 230, 305, 351, etc
GM says red, and probably for alot more vehicles other than 67-72 GM trucks
