I have parts of a '50 1-ton that I got from a guy who replaced the original rear with a 14-bolt Chevy with 3.42 gears. With a tired 216 that truck would no longer haul a load so he parked it and picked parts off it until he sold what was left to me.

About a week ago I got the remains far enough apart I can no longer call it a truck...

If you are going to use it as a truck be careful changing the gears too far.
