I've heard that you can use an old cell phone as a lo-jack. You wire the charger into the electrical system, and hide the phone up under the dash. When your car gets stolen, you tell the police the number of the phone, and the phone company should be able to triangulate it's position.(I forget which number you need - I think it's the smart card ID number)
