Jerry,
I will admit I don't understand the finer points of a voltage regulator. If the charging system is in first class shape, why doesn't it put the maximum amount of charge out against a 6 volt battery that is partially discharged.
It seems like it would output its max at first, then taper off as the battery voltage came up, ending up with just a trickle..not so!
