Sounds like you didn't use the hardener. With the use of the hardener it not only gives a better shine as westratdel mentioned. It increases drying time thereby reducing the amount of dirt that will stick. It is often surface dry 15/20 min after spraying. I like to wait at least 24 hrs before taping off for 2 tone. With out the hardener I'd wait a month if you can.
