Am I right that Pontiacs in Canada had the 261 engine in them? Maybe the cars used hydraulics, so they made blocks work either way when using in cars too. Wouldn't you have to change the rockers to use those also? Would need to have adjusters that lock in place w/out a lock nut, like on V-8's wouldn't it? Besides, what's wrong with solid lifters? Specially if racing/hopping, that's what all the racers used to want in their engines in past.
I just looked at the Carter's sight listed above and went into the Tech link. It has a great story on this engine. It's listed a few times for some reason, they all looked like same article to me. I have one of these to build for my COE, thanks for info. All I mentioned above was in the article also.
