Thanks Grigg, the links worked.
Currently the 1 ton still had the original 216 with the original transmission so it's not synchronized. I'm going to be putting in a 235 for some extra power. The current 216 is in bad shape as it sat for around 20 years. It started right up after fluid changes but won't last much longer.
Wish I could put disc brakes on but shortening a front axle like you did is well beyond my skills.
