For the second time in two months, my carrier bearing has gone out on my '66. This time it has snapped off at the neck where it hangs down. Coincidently the heavy duty bearing on my 65' C20 has gone out at the same time. I purchased a new bearing for the C20 which is of the "half-moon" design (not sure of its true name). My '66 uses the "tear-drop" style but has holes for the larger heavy duty type of carrier bearing on the frame. I cannot find a heavy duty type bearing that fits a '66 C10, only a C20. I don't understand why there are holes but no such bearing that can be used. The shaft of the C10 measures 3cm but the C20 measures 3.5cm. I can only get the larger bearing style in 3.5 not 3. Is there a way to install the heavy duty type of bearing on a C10, or does anyone know where I can find the larger bearing with a 3cm shaft in it. I was thinking GMC 1/2tons used the larger style bearings but I am not sure. Sorry if this is confusing, I will add pictures to try to help. Thanks
