I all but gave up trying to put the glass in a 55 2nd series. I even went for professional help and their advice was to trim the windshield. As it turned out, the new rubber was way too big. I didn't have anything to compare it too. I ordered another rubber from a diferent supplier and it all but fell in. Good luck.
