I believe 54s still have them mounted in a socket that just pushes into a hole in the dash. Grab the back of the socket & wiggle it as you pull it out. Once the socket w/bulb is out push the bulb into the socket while turning counter clockwise on the bulb. It'll turn a few degrees then pull straight out. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will point it out.
