If I tried your method, FJM, I'd do it on #2 or #5,because those are where the best average internal temperatures- and hence the best average differences between hot & cold settings - might be found, but I might be a bit obsessive; There's not likely to be much difference. Be advised that it is better to have them a bit loose than a bit tight.
