I agree with Denny, you probably could manage it with a solid color but I wouldn't think of it with a metallic. Too many variables which would cause the paint to lay out different.
With a solid color the only thing is how different the paint lays out. If you was to color sand and buff then some differences could eliminated.
I was thinking of doing the roof and the back of the cab down to the pinstripe, then the rest of the cab.
That way I wouldn't have to climb up and do the roof and the over-spray off the roof would not be an issue when I paint the rest of the cab.
