I was told the trans was ok, and I believe it is, All I did months ago was to remove the shifter lever cover and thoroughly clean the unit. I'm 99% certain that I had all the critical pcs in the correct position when the cover went on. I have all gears except 2nd. I've had the cover off n on all day. It's near imposs to know if the line-up is correct when you get to that last 1/2 inch. But, I have a positive detent in all positions on both levers, but second will not engage. When I physically hold the lever in the 2nd position and helper releases clutch, it kicks out rather than engages. All other gears engage fine when using this method. I'm thinking that my shift levers and cover are installed ok and my problem is internal, possibly in the syncro? any ideas?
