the code on the pad by the distributor will tell if someone with the numbers book chimes in, other than that, taking the side cover off and looking at the lifters? the lash settings should make it obvious, and the mechanicals will have a slight lifter 'clatter' when running - other than the hydraulic lifters I don't think there's any difference .... if it's hydraulics you can quit thinkin about adjusting, if solids, 0.006 intake, 0.013 exhaust should do it, but don't try to make them perfecly quiet or you'll have trouble
