Hy Crazy j, your shifter on the rear end is being held in place by a metal strap. The shifter arm is sticking up on the top left side of the diff., it has a 90 degree bend in it, the strap is attached to where either the vacuum or manual shifter would attach. You could attach a manual shift rod, or find a vacuum shift unit and all the control stuff, hope that helps
