None of them have not been altered in any way. My Suburban had black paint under the little rub thingy the parking brake cable rides on attached to the frame. And my new COE has black paint on all of the frame. I still believe the frames were painted black, they always have been as far as I'm concerned, unless somebody can show me otherwise. Parts assembled onto the frame after it was painted would have been raw metal. Things like tie rods, springs both leaf/coil and nuts and bolts which were shipped to the factories in bins or bulk. A lot of parts people paint black now were actually cad plated or just plain raw metal. I would sure like to know for sure.
