I haven't tried that mainly because I haven't got the dropped axle yet- I have a 3/4 ton and an extra 1/2 ton axle. Sid had 1/2 tons but no 3/4 tons-He gave me a king pin to king pin measurement. It was 1-1/2" shorter than what I have. Possibly it shunk when he dropped it don't know but I'm up in the air. May send him mine to be sure. The subject comes up here often..an there are varying opinions but many swear the axles(1/2 and 3/4) are the same.
