For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 23 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 23 | Hello bolters I just joined I've been reading for few months.Last fall I bought a 1957 6500 with a 261 4 spd 2 spd rearend it has 14' flatbed dump on it.I bought it off ebay I had shipped to Ga. from Iowa I was pretty pleased when it got here the exhuast manifold was busted and it ran kinda rough I been workin on it the past week put a manifold on valve cover gasket plugs wires points and condensor and put a kit in carb. thats my problem the truck runs great but I have to leave the choke about half way out or it want idle I've tried the idle adjusment screw but no luck any ideas. Now for the next thing the cab is a little more rusty than I had hoped for but I have found a 1957 4400 V8 locally with a good cab will it work. Mine is little rusty in the floor but what really concerns me is right above the windshield in the middle. Other than the above I really like the truck it has the deluxe heater that works it still has the turn signal switch in the colum that still cancels P.S. the 261 green engine paint from Jim Carter is good stuff Thanks Kip | | |
