you shouldn't need to pull any outside skin to insulate, and I can tell ya removing and replacing hundreds of rivets takes special tools and LOTS of time

if it's inside panels that are metal and riveted, they'll sweat if you leave them, you need to get rid of them or insulate on top of them and cover with wood panels - there should be NO direct metal contact from outside skin to interior finish .... random screw holes in metal can be filled with rivets
