Yep, works great.
Can also use a 2X6 or so board as a ramp placed on the tire but not the rim, start to drive up it, same results.
On a stubborn one I ended up using the bush hog on the back of the tractor when the truck was not enough, it is a really heavy one, just lowered the side of it on the tire to pop the bead off.
