This posting is one in a series. If you have not yet read the earlier postings in the series, you’ll need to, as this posting won’t make much sense without having done so! Just do a search using the word “SLURP”.
In my last posting I described how a very kind body and paint offer from my friend David Horner at Restoration Specialties has caused us to change direction and complete the disassembly of Red in preparation for bodywork and painting.
As a result, Red lost his clothes over two more work sessions Thursday night and Saturday!
Eek! He is almost completely naked, wearing only the “briefest” of “underwear”now:

The sequence was as follows:
Rear fenders off (tough, rusted in CUTCH HEAD bolts, requiring two people to get them loosened off their nuts:

http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/hh16/JimGnitecki/Redisinbriefestofunderwear009readyt.jpgWe made sure to include critical instructions for David at Restoration Specialties:

Here is how we laid out the bagged and labeled parts, so that they are located roughly where they would be in the actual truck (top of photo is front of truck, bottom is rear of truck):

The next work session will be Tuesday evening! Randy, with his experienced eye, now says we are almost at the half way point! Good thing – I am getting a bit weary of putty knives, Gunk, solvent, and brakecleaner. You wouldn’t believe how much greasy grit there is embedded and baked onto a 53 year old chassis!
