I'm restoring a '41 1/2 ton. The engine is a '54 235, and the tranny was a shot 3 speed. I picked up a free 4 speed that came from a '51. The owner thought the tranny was original to the '51. My "new" 4 speed measures about 14 inches front to back while the old 3 speed only measured about 11 inches. Is there any possible way that the new one will fit (or is this wishful thinking)?
