hello. when going from standard drum brakes to power disc front brakes, does the booster mount under the truck where the factory master is ? is it a smaller booster or what ?

also, has anyone done just the discs without the poer booster ? if so, is it a lot better than the front drums, or did you wish you would have gone witht he booster also ?
