Well, it's been a good winter so far in VT--plenty of snow, but not too much. I'm looking forward to spring so I can put my 57 back on the road, but need to address a temperature issue. My truck has the original radiator, which has been cleaned and tested, with a 350 engine and short water pump. After the engine warms up, the temp gauge goes all the way to hot. I replaced the gauge, and it still happens. Water in the radiator is hot, but not boiling, and there is never any dangerous pressure when removing the cap. The fan is quite a distance from the radiator (several inches). Do I need a shroud or a new temperature sending unit?
