do you have a specific model of trailer? Different trailers have different hitch heights. You might want to check out
www.steelsoldiers.com for information on pintle hitches. There are some really good guys over there with good info on how to build your hitch plate, height, etc... If you have a receiver hitch you could just get an adjustable pintle plate.
